2017 has been a jam packed year for us so far. We started off in NYC working with Nick Hutack and News Light to create a new broadcast studio for AOL to host their BUILD series. The studio opened on Jan 12 with a live broadcast.

Then on to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to work with Claudia Bueno and Illuminode on cleating and lighting a giant hanging sculpture that filled the lobby of what is becoming a new Element by Westin Hotel occupying the top half of one of the more famous KL skyscrapers, the IB Tower.

Here we see the very first pieces of the sculpture go up, as they are lit by our customized LED fixtures.

The big challenge here was, having a lighting position only on side, we needed to light the entire 60' x 40' x 4' tall sculpture with minimal light spill on the white ceiling and without lighting the people below the sculpture.

We created and applied these special baffles to cut down the vertical beam degree to about 7 degrees. giving us an oval of about 7 degree by 25 degree field. We could not use barn doors because the client wanted a slick profile to the installed fixates as they were exposed.

After coming back from KL, we went around the world again to the United Arab Emirates, to work with Illuminode and Disorient on the Burning Man style event called Bedouin Tech. A huge success and a fundamentally groundbreaking event for that part of the world.

Coming back to NYC was refreshing, just in time for the big blizzard. We jumped right into lighting a new corporate TV studio for Abiomed in Danvers Massachusetts for 4WALL entertainment lighting.

The studio has a 2 shot set as well as a chroma key set.

Then on to programming on a shoot for Clinique for their new video and print campaign. Good old fashioned full tungsten / HMI rig.

Then back with 4WALL installing the new flagship headquarters for NIKE on 6th ave in Manhattan.

Now on to another fasion shoot for AX at Milk Studios in NYC.

After this one looking to do a bit of traveling before the summer really lands and start off the second quarter with a new TV studio in Philadelphia and then County Club VIII with DISORIENT.
